Robert Mach, MBA, FACHE, ARRT

Chief Executive Officer

Robert Mach joined Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital as Chief Executive Officer in August 2025. He boasts more than 25 years of healthcare leadership experience in both for-profit and not-for-profit settings, with a strong focus on operational excellence, patient-centered care, and team development.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Robert began his healthcare career as a radiologic technologist before advancing into hospital-based radiology management and senior administration roles. His previous leadership positions include:

  • Chief Operating Officer at Littleton Regional Healthcare in Littleton, New Hampshire
  • CEO at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek, Michigan
  • CEO at Ascension Borgess Allegan Hospital and Borgess Pipp Hospital in Allegan County, Michigan
  • CEO at Arbor Health in East Lewis County, Morton, Washington

Robert holds a master’s of business administration and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). He has also served as the New Hampshire Regent for ACHE. Known for his servant leadership style and ability to build strong teams, Robert is committed to fostering a compassionate, patient-first culture where every individual is treated like family.

Originally from Holly, Michigan, Robert is proud to return to his home state to lead Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital during a transformative time in healthcare.

Eric J. Price

Chief Financial Officer

Eric joined the Senior Leadership Team at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital in January 2023. Eric is a Marine Corps combat veteran. He has worked in various accounting roles over the past 25 years, including working for several healthcare organizations.

Before completing a Master’s of Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, he gained broad experience as an accountant working in mortgage banking, manufacturing, broadcast media, and global logistics. After completing his master’s degree in 2011, Eric entered the healthcare industry as CFO at Idaho State Hospital South, an inpatient psychiatric hospital. He went on to lead a larger and more complex inpatient psychiatric hospital system in the state of Oregon in 2015. To diversify his experience in healthcare leadership, Eric began working in Critical Access Hospitals in 2019.

Eric grew up ranching with his father, a respected cattleman, in a rural community in the Snake River Valley of Idaho. He has a passion for delivering effective healthcare services to the communities he lives in. Eric is familiar with the challenges and opportunities facing the healthcare industry in rural areas, having worked in rural communities in Idaho, Alaska, and Oregon before joining Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital.

Eric is recognized as a thought leader in the healthcare industry and is often invited to speak at various conferences and industry events.

Eric believes that a successful healthcare entity is one that effectively blends the competing constraints of financial efficiency and clinical excellence through a collaborative effort between the business operations and clinical operations teams. He believes that the success of any healthcare system is dependent upon effectively understanding the needs of the patients and the community it serves.

Eric is currently pursuing a Doctor of Health Administration at Central Michigan University. He is a member of the United Way, the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), and the American Legion.

Eric enjoys spending his time outdoors with his wife, Ann, and they both enjoy kayaking, hiking, and surfing during the summer. During the winter, they enjoy snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, and snowboarding.

Scott Blixt, MHA, BSN, RN

Chief Nursing Officer

Scott Blixt was born in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, was raised in the Township of Ishpeming, and graduated from Westwood High School. Scott served in the U.S. Navy as a Corpsman for 5 years of active duty. He lived abroad in Bahrain for 3 years while in the military. He then attended Northern Michigan University, where he graduated with his bachelor of science in nursing to become a registered nurse. He has since achieved his master’s in healthcare administration through Walden University and completed a CEO certification course through the National Rural Health Association.

Scott’s medical background spans more than 27 years of experience. He has worked in Military Medical Hospitals and Clinics, Hospital Systems, Federally Qualified Health Clinics, and now in a Critical Access Hospital setting. Scott is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives and the Michigan Organization of Nurse Leaders.

Scott was trained in LEAN concepts and has participated in several process improvements. He currently serves on the City Park & Recreation Board, assists with coaching high school sports, and volunteers at many community events. He is also proud to be the president of the local bowling league.

In his free time, Scott enjoys the outdoors, where he can fish, hunt, golf, and explore. He is married to Rochell and has two children, Bryce and Malia, who are very active in sports.

Sherry Arnold

Human Resources Director

Sherry Arnold serves as the Human Resources Director at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital, where she is committed to supporting employees, strengthening workplace culture, and helping the organization attract and retain exceptional healthcare professionals.

Sherry earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing from Lake Superior State University. She also holds an Associate of Applied Science degree in Healthcare Risk Management and Quality Review through the Michigan Hospital Association and Lansing Community College. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) and remains dedicated to staying current with best practices in human resources and healthcare leadership.

With more than 30 years of leadership experience in healthcare, Sherry brings extensive knowledge in human resources, quality improvement, risk management, regulatory compliance, and organizational development. She previously served as Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital's Director of Quality Improvement & Risk Management from 1993 to 2016 before returning to the organization as Human Resources Director.

A lifelong resident of Manistique, Sherry is proud to serve the community she calls home. She and her husband, Gerald (Jason), have two children and one grandchild. Outside of work, Sherry enjoys spending time with family, traveling, and creating memorable holiday celebrations.

Marc Marcotte, MHA, MSN, RN-BC

Director, Rural Health & Specialty Clinics

Marc (Tiger) received his bachelor’s degree in nursing from Finlandia University. After graduation, he began his nursing career in Colorado at a psychiatric hospital. While working, he began his pursuit to obtain his master’s degree and graduated from the University of Phoenix with a master’s in healthcare administration and nursing. Prior to moving to Manistique, he worked as a Patient Care Director in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Marc is originally from the Upper Peninsula and enjoys spending time with family, four-wheeling, and playing and coaching hockey. He is married to Emily and has three kids, Bauer, Cooper, and Ryann.

Kim Shiner

Director of Compliance/Quality

Kimberly received her bachelor of science in business administration at Central Michigan University and her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) degree at Gogebic Community College several years later, graduating at the top of her nursing class. She has many years of experience in management and marketing, along with serving as an AmeriCorps Volunteer, where she served disadvantaged youth in education before entering the healthcare field.

Kimberly was elected to the Ontonagon School Board and served as secretary. She was also a 4-H Leader, Catechist, and a member of the Drum and Bugle Corps of Ontonagon. She currently serves on the City Council for Manistique as Mayor pro tem.

Kimberly is married to John, and they have two children and two grandchildren. Her husband is the high school principal, and together, they spend time traveling to visit family, flower gardening, painting, camping, and planning their retirement!

Sara Giles

Marketing Director

Sara received her honors bachelor’s degree with a double major in psychology and criminology at the University of Western Ontario in London, Canada. Sara worked as a counselor for several years before starting her career in business and marketing. Prior to her role at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital (SMH), she was the Director of a wellness club in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario and a counselor at women’s shelters in both Australia and Canada. Her passion for holistic health and wellness sparked her interest in the healthcare marketing field.

Sara has years of experience planning special events and fundraisers for various organizations. Sara serves as the Chair for the Community Staff Relations Team at SMH, which allows her to plan events and create community partnerships. She and her team are involved in the planning of community events such as the Schoolcraft County Health Fair, 4th of July festivities, Gala Fundraiser, and the Festival of Trees.

Sara currently serves as a board member on the Superior Health Foundation in Marquette, Michigan. The Superior Health Foundation offers health-centered grants to non-profits across the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Sara resides in Manistique with her husband and son. She is originally from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, and has traveled the world (Australia, Thailand, Fiji, and Europe) prior to her move to the United States. She enjoys the outdoors, adventure, travel, and spending time with family.

Kris Boyd

Executive Assistant

Kris received her associate’s degree at Bay de Noc Community College.

She has been employed at Schoolcraft Memorial Hospital since November 1987. She serves in the role of Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, and Secretary to the Board of Trustees. Until January 2026 her duties also included Medical Staff Credentials Clerk, and for the first ten years she was also Personnel Manager.

Kris was born and raised in the Manistique area; she is married with a daughter and a stepson. She enjoys traveling, golfing, walking, bicycling, camping, side-by-side rides, spending time outdoors exploring the UP, and time with her family.
