Dr. Mahpara Syed has been practicing rheumatology in Southeast Michigan since 2007. She received her medical degree from Fatima Jinnah Medical College and completed a residency program in internal medicine at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center. After working as Chief Resident, she completed her fellowship program in rheumatology at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center.
Board-certified in both internal medicine and rheumatology, Dr. Syed is also a member of William Beaumont Hospital’s Medical Staff and serves as an instructor at Oakland University William Beaumont (OUWB) Department of Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She has been engaged in the medical school admission screening process as well as teaching medical students and residents in a clinical setting.
Dr. Syed’s special interest is focused on the management of rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, and for that, she served as a member of the team engaged in creating and incorporating disease activity measures in EPIC EMR. Dedicated to evidence-based medicine, she consistently improves patient care by embracing new knowledge and the latest technological advancements.
Outside the clinic, Dr. Syed values her time spent with her husband and son, while maintaining strong connections with her broader network of family and friends.
